Peter Callesen: A4 Papercut
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco

Browsing the internet I found this web gallery from Peter Callesen and his master pieces, he’s an artist who base his job in the figures or objects and white paper, and this is his own definition of his work:
A common theme in many of my works is a reinterpretation of classical fairytales as well as a more general interest in memory in connection to childhood - for instance in my performances Castle, Folding and Jukebox. These playful performances exist in the lost land of childhood, between dream and reality and it is in this meeting or confrontation of these two conditions, in a kind of utopian embodiment, that these works of art become alive, often in a tragicomic way.
Here you can find his biography and one of the best galleries A4 Papercut.
SPAM is not ad campaign.
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco
Every single morning the same old story begins, I come to my office startup my PC computer, after a few seconds I open my email client application and then an average of 500 SPAM emails bring to me, in fact I apply filter to lot of them, so to my inbox just go a little bit of them, 10 as maximum.
But the real problem is how it affects the efficiency of the common email user, in other words I’m thinking in some people around the world reading this emails, not at all, but if some people receive 500 SPAM emails, maybe they read 30 or 40 of them, and that’s the main SPAM problem. Is impossible stop it if someone continue reading it, or someone continue accepting it if it was an ad campaign.
SPAM is not ad campaign, that is just an email offering services, products or lies in some cases, but if you think in fact you didn’t ask for information about that.

Evolution of Alphabets
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco

Via Microciervos, I found this interesting article about the evolution of the alphabets since 900 B.C. until this days, In fact I never think in the multiples variations of the alphabet, the change of some letters, or the position of them, but this flash animation shows all of us the changes in the timeline.
The Simpsons 20 years after!
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco
20 years ago when I was 14 years old on April 19, 1987, The Tracey Ullman Show aired a two-minute animated short that introduced the world to the Simpsons.
Wow I never think in the Simpsons family with 20 years of history, in fact I saw my first Simpsons TV series episode several years later maybe when I was on 20 or 21 years old, and that’s the reason why I didn’t know’s the original characters of the family, here’s a pic form the original Simpsons Family:

As they say in the Parade:
Twenty years ago this week, a yellow family from Springfield, USA, first careened onto TV screens—lampooning American culture with pitch-perfect satire and touching off a new era in television comedy.
I totally agree.
Fast Food: Ads vs. Reality
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco

Sometimes during the week, Donna (my wife) and me go to eat fast food, but always I’ll have the same question. Why the picture of the ads doesn’t looks like that thing in my dish?
This guys makes a project called “Fast Food: Ads vs. Reality”
Each item was purchased, taken home, and photographed immediately. Nothing was tampered with, run over by a car, or anything of the sort. It is an accurate representation in every case. Shiny, neon-orange, liquefied pump-cheese, and all.
Via, really nice.

CrackBerry
Posted by Juan Fernando Pacheco

During the night of tuesday 17 until the wednesday morning, the BlackBerry service went down in the US, in fact it happened in the outside work hours, but it affects to millions of service users leaving delayed messages on their hand-held devices, this affects to the government inclusive.
Tony Fratto, White House spokesman told to the reporters “I apologize to a number of you who tried e-mailing over the last 14 hours”, “We’re 14 hours into no BlackBerry, so you can imagine how things are,”. In other areas like business, a lot of companies inform they lost business or meetings, by the down of the email service, this makes different kinds of feelings in the service users.
At this time, RIM (Research In Motion) the canadian company provider the devices and de the email service didn’t disclosed any details about the problem.
But the final question is, if all of us are more dependent of the technology every day. When one of this kind of things happens we run in a roller coaster of feelings?. And maybe we forgotten that our lives don’t depend about a phone, laptop, internet or what else, maybe the next time we must to think about that.
